About Us

A small corn seed grows into the mighty Oak. In a similar manner, a small group of 15 ex student in 1940 has grown into a vastly spread organization as “ Old Boys’ Association (Regd.) – GCTI, Kanpur”. The same was registered on 7th Jan 1944. Now it has grown into 192 patron members and more than 527 life members. Ex-Student of GCTI have spread over India and aboard the tutelage of excellent teaching faculty of this institute. They are working in textile industry as technologist, manager, in R & D organistion and other related fields.
OBA has always been working towards promoting brotherhood, sharing experience and disseminating technical knowledge within profession by periodically holding get-together, seminars and conferences etc.
OBA has been actively holding family picnics, sports and various interaction programmes among the ex-students of the Institute.
Recently it has also imparted talks and lecture for the students by inviting eminent scholars of the subjects.

Now the association is aiming to start following activities:

·        To constitute a cell of technical experts in different regions to cater the demand of small and medium size textile and auxiliary units.
·        To restart scholarship on merit basis to present students.
·        To generate a corpus fund which can support our Alma Mater with a great feeling of love towards each other.
·        To spread and expedite the networking among ex-student, the publication of Alumni Directory is first and landmark step to achieve this.
·        To impart refresher course & to help in placement of student. I have the pleasure to announce that under the able guidance to our Patron, Hon. President and close cooperation of executive members, OBA has expanded its activities very fast.
Our motto is ‘Brotherhood’ and as long as all the members strive towards this, the associates who have manoeurably achieved a prominent place for this institute in India, will also make it significant all over globe. OBA has very cordial relations with its members spread all over the country. Now we have miles to go and this body is all set, on the threshold of this voyage to keep going.
